|Practicing Divorce & Family Law in New Jersey
Ms. Gold has over 40 years experience in the practice of law, including insurance defense litigation, real estate transactions, wills and estates, business formation and other general litigation, but for many years, her major focus has been on Divorce and Family Law.Ms. Gold’s expertise is in handling complex financial and high conflict matrimonial matters, including those involving business interests, professional corporations, commercial real estate, extensive pre-marital assets, high-income situations and contested custody matters. When representing business owners and licensed professionals, as well as W2 wage-earners, Ms. Gold emphasizes the importance of preparation, being immersed in the facts, finances, and the law applicable to each case, and presenting them in a concise, coherent manner. Just as important is minimizing the impact of divorce on families and the businesses which support them. In addition to representation at the trial level, she has also served as counsel for matters on appeal to the Appellate Division.
Although highly experienced in litigation, Ms. Gold strongly believes mediation or arbitration to be a better option in most matrimonial disputes, and has been retained to act as divorce mediator or arbitrator by colleagues and litigants themselves. From the program’s inception, Ms. Gold has participated as a Matrimonial Early Settlement Panelist in Camden, Burlington and Gloucester Counties, and now serves as a Blue Ribbon Panelist for the Court’s mandated settlement program as well as a divorce mediator or arbitrator for the newer Court mandated programs. She has been named to SJ Magazine’s “Top Attorneys” list for her expertise in Family Law Mediation.
Since receiving her law degree from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden in 1976, Ms. Gold has been an active member of the region’s legal community. She is a Master Emeritus, founding member, served as Treasurer of the Thomas S. Forkin Family Law American Inns of Court, and is presently on the Executive Committee of the Inn. The organization, which is based on the British model and comprised of Family Part judges and practicing family law attorneys, is dedicated to teaching matrimonial law and practice to younger members of the Bar and fostering collegiality between the Bench and Bar.
In addition to her practice, Ms. Gold has served on the District IV Ethics Committee and District IV Fee Arbitration Committee of the Supreme Court of New Jersey, being appointed Chair of both Committees during her tenure. Ms. Gold is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Camden County Bar Association and has served on the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Executive Committee.
